چکیده

Abstract A novel two-dimensional ultrasonic surface burnishing process (2D-USBP) is proposed. 7075-T6 aluminum samples are processed by a custom-designed 2D-USBP setup. Parameter optimization of conducted to determine the best processing strategy aluminum. uniform design method utilized optimize process. U 13 (13 3 ) and 7 (7 2 tables established conduct parameter optimization. Burnishing depth, spindle speed, feed rate taken as control parameters. The roughness Vickers hardness evaluation indicators. It establishes active models for quality. Dry wear tests compare wear-resistance treated sample original sample. Results show that machining quality under 0.24 mm 5000 r/min 25 mm/min rate. S reduced from 2517.758 50.878 nm, improved 167 252 HV. Under lower load, mechanism mainly abrasive accompanied delamination wear, while wear. higher accumulation frictional heat on transforms mechanisms into thermal

Surface Characterizations of Fretting Fatigue Damage in Aluminum Alloy 7075-T6 Clamped Joints: The Beneficial Role of Ni–P Coatings

This paper aims to characterize the surface damage as a consequence of fretting fatigue in aluminum alloy 7075-T6 plates in double-lap bolted joints through XRD, surface profilometry, and SEM analyses. The main focus was on the surface roughness and chemical phase composition of the damaged zone along with the identification of fretting fatigue crack initiations over the surface of the material...

Two-dimensional Mapping of Residual Strains in 6061-t6 Aluminum Alloy Friction Stir Welds

The residual strain profiles were measured through the thickness of friction-stir welded (FSW) plates using neutron diffraction to study the relationship between the angular distortion and the residual strain distribution. Three different weld specimens were prepared from a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with the purpose of separating the effects of the frictional heat and plastic deformation on the re...

Ionic Inhibition of Environmental Fatigue Crack Growth in 7075-t6

The objective of this study is to quantify and understand the effectiveness of a hexavalent chrome replacement ion to inhibit environmentally assisted fatigue crack propagation (EFCP) in high strength aluminum alloys. Because of dynamic-cyclic stress (or strain) loading, fatigue degradation occurs at stress levels considerably lower than the tensile or yield strength; degradation is exacerbated...

Analysis of Surface Roughness and Micro-hardness in Roller Burnishing of Aluminum Alloy 6061

Burnishing is a chip-less finishing process, in which a hard roller or ball presses the surface layer of part to perform plastic deformation in the surface layer and produce improved finish, enhanced hardness and compressive residual stresses on the surface of special materials such as Aluminum and Brass. In the following research, the effect of input parameters such as feed rate, cutting speed...
